Promote the preservation of traditional needlework and quilting techniques,
while encouraging experimentation in contemporary application of these techniques.
Educate the public in general about the value of artistic, handcrafted quilted items.
Encourage cooperation, fellowship, creativity, and quality craftsmanship.

Welcome to the Sierra Mountain Quilters Association!
The Sierra Mountain Quilters Association was founded in 1980. A love of quilting was the only requirement for membership then and still holds true today.
​
Monthly Meetings
We usually meet on the first Thursday of each month, with exceptions for 2025 being January 9th and July 10th. Meetings are held at Oakhurst Community Center, located at 39800 Fresno Flats Road (Road 425B), Oakhurst.*

April–September: Meetings begin at 6:00 PM (doors open at 5:30 PM).

October –March: Meetings begin at 1:00 PM (doors open at 12:30 PM).

“Sew-n-Tell,” where members showcase their projects

Sewing Circles
In addition to our main meetings, members can participate in smaller “Sewing Circles.” These informal gatherings take place at various locations and focus on specific projects or shared interests.

Annual membership is $35.00 for individuals, $50 for families. You can join by:

Filling out an application online.

Downloading and mailing the application to SMQA, P.O. Box 1359, Oakhurst, CA 93644 or bringing it to the next meeting.
