Celebrate 40 Years of Sierra Mountain Quilters Association
serving the mountain area
by creating an anniversary block wall-hanging

Your block can be traditional pieced, paper pieced, appliquéd, embellished, or an art quilt.  The minimum finished size will be 12x12 inches up to a maximum of 15x15 inches and can be rectangular or square.
Quilting the Dream” is the title of this project which will depict how you feel about our wonderful mountain area. Choose for your subject something that you absolutely love and appreciate about this area. Some suggested ideas for your block might be: mountain wildlife, flora, places (i.e. Bass Lake, Yosemite), activities (fishing, hiking, horseback riding), historic or cultural sites (Sierra Mono Museum, Mariposa Mining Museum, etc.), or events (Coarsegold Rodeo, Smokey Bear Run, etc.) These are just suggestions and are not meant to limit your ideas.
The deadline for your completed little wall-hanging is our June 4th guild meeting. We hope to display the “Quilting the Dream” projects at the Oakhurst Library and also at the 2021 Quilt Show.
