PATTERNS & INSTRUCTIONS

FROM QUILT IN A DAY

1.    Appliqué in a Day (Flower Quilt Full Patterns, Heart patterns.)                                   2.    Bits & Pieces Quilt (by Ann Dease)

3.    Boston Common Quilt – The Boston Common quilt is laid out similar to the city of Boston.  It’s a crossroads with paths leading in all directions.  The Boston Common quilt also begins with the common ground in the middle, surrounded by a wide band to contain it, and pathways of strips leading off in all directions.

4.    Day & Night (The Day and Night block is not new, it was published in 1933.  Day and Night will mystify, enchant, and entertain you.  It is magical.  The technique is just totally awesome.  Try some hocus pocus with strips, and you will discover the secret of Day and Night.  The Day and Night Quilt uses a lot of fabric, so instructions are included for two additional projects. Plus, template)

5.    Delectable Mountains Quilt (Template is included)

6.    Double Pinwheel Quilts (Plus, Pinwheel Blocks Bag Pattern)

7.    Easy Strip Tulip  (Plus, an easy strip-sewn method)

8.    Grandmother’s Garden Quilt (Many applique Flower blocks plus a Basket pattern)

9.    Irish Chain (Single and Double) and 10. Triple Irish Chain Quilt

11. Kaleidoscope Quilt (Numerous sizes)

12.  Log Cabin Pattern; 13. Orion’s Star Log Cabin; 14. Star Log Cabin.

15.   Lover’s Knot

16. May Basket (Basket Pattern)

17.  Morning Star Quilt (If you are new to quilting, you should set Morning Star Quilt aside until you have gained skill and experience by making a log cabin quilt from Quilt in a Day or Irish Chain quilt from Irish Chain in a Day.  In this pattern the pieces are smaller than in some of her previous book.)

18.  Nana’s Garden Quilt (No Flowers, Strips with lots of small squares)

19.  Quilters’ Almanac (A Block a Month Series Number Three)

20.  Pioneer Sampler (A Block a Month Series number Five. Wonderful quilt blocks, reminders of history and geography that are a part of our history. Plus stories about our quilter pioneers.)

21. Radiant Star – The Radiant Star, also known as the Long Star, Texas Star, and Star of Bethlehem.  In this dramatic design, one large multi-pieced star covers the mattress top from side to side.  Instructions for twin, double, queen and king size quilts.

22. Snowball Quilt Simplified (by Patricia Knoechel)

23. Start Across America (Block of the month Series Seven. Plus stories of Quilters who the stars are named after.)

24. Sunbonnet Sue (Patterns for both Sue and Sam)

25. Tennessee Walt (The illusion of curved piecing in the Tennessee Waltz quilt is the result of combining a Star block with a Snowball block.  As your eyes travel from one block to another, the pattern appears to dance across the quilt)

26. Trip Around the World (A geometric pattern of squares.  Instructions for 6 different sizes:  Baby and Lap; Tw8in; Double; Queen; California King; Dual King)
