We Welcome You
The Sierra Mountain Quilters Association was founded in 1980. A love of quilting was the only requirement for membership then and still holds true today. Our group meets on the first Thursday of every month. Meetings are held at Oakhurst Community Center, 39800 Fresno Flats Road (Road 425B) in Oakhurst at 6:00 p.m. Doors open at 5:30. Activities at these meetings may include a guest speaker, workshop, technique demonstrations, slides or videos, as well as “Sew-n-Tell.” Annual dues are $25.00. Visitors are always welcome, see below for more details.
In addition to monthly meetings, “circles” have been formed. These meetings are usually held at different places of the members choosing and host various projects.
The guild hosts a biennial Quilt Show. Other activities include making raffle and cuddle quilts and displaying member’s quilts at local locations. SMQA has a lending library containing quilting books, magazines, patterns, etc.
A monthly newsletter will be emailed to each member, unless a hard copy has been requested. Articles of interest along with the monthly activities schedule, news and current events are posted to keep us informed. The newsletters may also be downloaded from the site under the newsletter link.
Guests are Welcome Too
Guests are welcomed to attend. We request $5.00 when attending your second meeting as a visitor, or if we have a special speaker. Should you decide to join, you may do so by accessing the membership link on the site to download the application. Mail the application and check to us at: SMQA, P.O. Box 1359, Oakhurst, CA 93644, or bring it to the next meeting.
Our membership roster may not be used for commercial purposes and is securely password protected for members only.
